A run, a cold bath and home made tortillas

Nice fast run to the beach. Ice cold bath. Even for Denmark, 17°C
water temperature in the end of July is bad. I mean, it was nice but it doesn’t really feel like summer.

Mexican tortillas are ideally made with maza ahrina, which is cornmeal treated with lime juice in some traditional way. I’ll look for that another time. For now I opted for regular cornmeal and they turned out great. Recipe:

  1. Make a dough out of 1 cup water and 1.5 cups cornmeal (or wheat). Adjust the measures for a good flexible dough. Knead well.
  2. Make very flat pancakes. I used a rolling pin on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Toast in a dry pan on medium to high heat. Keep warm under cover until serving (this will also make them softer and easier to wrap).

Beef chili with tomatoes, onions, paprika, garlic, cumin, cinnamon, lime juice, and coriander.

Home made guacamole.

Food heaven.




Two km yesterday. Three km today. Both at Vasaparken, Stockholm. Not the most exciting place to run. Its very hilly for a small park, and yesterday it was raining buckets, which always makes me feel like Rocky.
I have no idea where all the
runners of Stockholm are, I haven’t seen a single one. I guess they have more parks to choose from than us poor copenhageners.

The picture shows the best part of my route. It’s crowded in summer though…

Blackcurrant parfait in the freezer. Not ready in another three hours. Don’t know what to do in the meantime.

This route is becoming a classic. Since I found the way to avoid running in traffic, it’s become the best route I have. Now if it would only stop raining I could even go for a swim…
